Monochromatic Sunset Vibes- Spring Series #2

Hey everyone! So, with the season changing and the arrival of Spring/Summer collections in the fashion world, I was inspired to create a super colorful and fun look today using my new Blow Me Away eye shadow quad from Colourpop Cosmetics. The neon orange tones immediately caught my eyes at first glance and I KNEW I had to create a look using orange tones all through out my face!

Annnd, here she is! The quad includes 4 gorgeous peachy- orange shades that range from natural to super neon.

Here are swatches I made from the palette; I've included both finger and brush swatches. The matte shades were highly pigmented in both finger and brush swatches, but the brush swatch for Take a Break (the only shimmery shadow) was not very pigmented at all. However, when I used Take a Break on my eyes I applied it with my fingers and with some MAC Fix+ to make it more pigmented and it turned out great.

So, for the eye look, I wanted to make Centerfold and Slim Fit really stand out since those are my two favorite shades in the quad. I started with Issues in my crease to act as a transition shade, which I blended in fully only leaving a wash of color behind. I then went in with Centerfold and blended that into the whole crease of my eye, but focused most of the product in the outer 1/3rd. A technique I always like to use it to pat my blending brush in the eye shadow and first place the brush in the outer corner of my eye, blending it towards the inner corner. This creates a gradient look with your shadow going from dark to light which is what I wanted to achieve.

Then, with careful precision I packed on Slim Fit with a shader brush in the outer V of my eye, which I then blended out with my blending brush. However, I did not blend this shade all the way to my inner corner, I wanted to keep it in that V to add depth to the look. After I was satisfied with the blending of the 3 shades I went in with Take a Break in my inner corner/tear duct area and lightly applied that with a finger.

To keep the red orange/sunset vibes going I decided to use my Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, and my new Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit (which is out of this world) in Glo Getter! I'm a highlighter junkie and definitely pack on the glow, and this kit has such a soft and gorgeous formula that really gives a blinding glow-which I live for. To tie it all the orange tones together I paired the look with my Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Magic Wand, a peachy nude.

Here are some more pictures of the final look:

I really enjoyed creating this monochromatic orange vibe today and look forward to doing more looks like this with a variety of colors! Stay tuned for more. x
