Summertime Hues and Prints

So, winter finally decided to leave the party and summer is now in full swing which can only mean one thing for fashionistas: SUMMER FASHION IS HERE! Living in Toronto, somewhere where it actually gets cold in the winter (unlike Dubai), I realized how much I missed styling and wearing my spring/summer wardrobe, and I am so excited to go all out this summer with the bright hues and fun prints.

Runway trends for summer 2017 include super bright colors, printed garments, cold and off the shoulders, as well as flared pants- to name a few. My absolute favorite trends have been the bright colors as well as the prints, whether on a blouse or on my pants. Since seeing these trends in person at Zara, I fell in love with how fun and summer-y they were and knew I had to cop a pair of printed flared pants.

Zara has a plethora of gorgeous bottoms this season, but I'm quite picky and didn't prefer their fit (at least for the ones I tried!). BUT, I was able to grab these pants from LOFT while they were luckily 40% their original price and I really liked their fit and the colors/print! These trousers are very comfortable and loose, yet still maintain a straight shape which I prefer. I loved the dark teal color against the array of brightly colored florals.

As for the blouse, I bought that from ZARA for full price, but I still thought it was worth it since the color is just everything. I loved the summer vibes it was giving and its style; loose fitting yet still giving off a shaped silhouette, along with the cute frills of course! The yellow in the top also really brings out the yellow flowers in the trousers, making them really pop.

For accessories I decided to keep them to a minimum and more neutral colored: I wanted the focus of this ensemble to be on the blouse and trousers. I paired the look with my taupe colored Kate Spade cross body, and my nude wrist watch by Parfois.

Summer trends this season in fashion are so funky, fun, and bright, giving all the more reason for everyone to play around with their favorite ones! There's always a trend or style out there that may catch your eye and make you S.D.B. (Stop, Drop, and Buy), and by the looks of it, this S/S season is definitely going to be making us shop til we drop.
